Help Get Sponsors Renews Title Sponsor for Wrightsville Beach Marathon

November 12, 2014

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Quintiles has renewed its title sponsorship of the Wrightsville Beach Marathon for the next three years, it was announced today. The 6th annual Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon presented by Landfall Realty will take place March 22, 2015.

The North Carolina based biopharmaceutical services company has been the title sponsor of the award-winning event since its inception in 2009.  “We’re proud to have our name associated with such a great event,” said Steve Brechbiel, senior director, community relations at Quintiles.  “Every year, our participants and their families tell us this is one of the best in the region.  Our title sponsorship is a visible reminder of Quintiles’ global leadership position in biopharmaceutical services as we contribute to a healthier world.”

The Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon Madness Weekend brings 4,000 runners and their families to the Wilmington area each year and generates an estimated $3 million in economic impact.  Events include a marathon, half marathon, relay, 5K, and 1-mile fun run.  The 2015 half marathon will serve as the North Carolina USA Track and Field Championship and a qualifier for the New York City Half Marathon.  The full marathon is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon and New York City Marathon.

“We are honored to continue this growing tradition with Quintiles,” said Tom Clifford, event director.  “Going into our 6th year it is clear that participants recognize this race as the Quintiles race over any other name, which says a lot about the value of our partnership.”

Help Get Sponsors, a full-service sponsorship sales and management company based in Raleigh, N.C., secured the deal on behalf of its client, the Quintiles Wrightsville Beach Marathon.
