Durham,
N.C. – Quintiles and the Bull City Race Fest have announced a new partnership
naming Quintiles as the event’s first-ever title sponsor. The weekend of events, which includes a
half-marathon, five-mile race, one-mile run and food truck rodeo, will be renamed
the Quintiles Bull City Race Fest beginning in 2015.
“Partnering
with a global company based in Durham that is deeply committed to health,
wellness, education and community is the perfect fit,” said Steve Lackey, Event
Producer. “We are thrilled that Quintiles will be supporting our event at such
a major level and excited to launch future programs related to the sponsorship
that will make a huge impact in our communities.”

Held on the American Tobacco Historic District, the half-marathon
course takes runners through Downtown Durham, several Durham neighborhoods and sections
of Duke University’s campus. The
inaugural event in 2013 drew 5,900 runners, making it the largest race in
Durham’s history and among the largest in the region.
The Bull City Race Fest has partnered with Durham Habitat for Humanity
as the official beneficiary and has set a goal to build 10 new homes over the
next five years. “We are proud to
be in a position to work with Habitat for Humanity of Durham to make such a
difference in the lives of families in our community,” said Steve Lackey. “It’s a genuine honor for all of us to
work with this organization and their leadership team.”

company based in Raleigh, N.C., secured the sponsorship on behalf of its client,
the Bull City Race Fest.
